I had the pleasure of attending the Willow Burn Hospice Diamonds and Pearls Ball at Beamish Hall Hotel on Friday.
Willow Burn Hospice is my local hospice and the team their help people at a time when they need help and support the most. The hospice helps people to achieve a good death, to live well with an illness and to support family and friends to have a more positive future. Not only that, Willow Burn is a community hub where people come together to give love and support to each other.
But special places like this wouldn't exist without the support of our local community. You see the hospice receives 44% of funding from the local NHS but for every £1 that is spent, 56p comes from fundraising..
The ball was to raise much needed funds for Willow Burn and they raised a whopping £22,000 on the night.
We done to Rachel Quince and all the volunteers at Willow Burn Hospice for all their hard work raising money for this amazing cause.
A big well done to all who supported the evening including Alfie Joey who was our host for the evening.
